The Department, founded in 1982, addresses all forms of politics-related issues, using an approach that blends historical, political and juridical analyses, applying a comparative method of enquiry to its research activities.
Since its foundation, the Department of Politics, Institutions, History has sought to promote relations with universities and research centres outside Italy. For several years various types of joint programmes have been run in collaboration with many European and extra-European states.
